Chinese Delegation of Young Politicians Visited the Center for International Research and Education of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

A delegation of five persons including mayors and members of the communist party of Xinjiang region headed by Maierdan Mugaiti visited the Center for International Research and Education on Saturday 14th of Ordibehesth 1392. In a meeting with Dr. Soleimanpour, they discussed common historical and cultural grounds and exchanged views on the commonalities. The head of the Center for International Research and Education described the cultural and historical capacities of the two countries and maintained that due to long relations that the two countries have had so far, a dialogue for cultivating common human values in this regard would be constructive.  The head of the Chinese delegation expressed his satisfaction over the trip to Iran and mentioned that prior to the journey to Iran they received their information on Iran from other sources and that whatever he had heard about Iran prior to the visit is different from what he really observes in the country. He described Tehran as a dynamic city where people work hard and attempt to have a decent life. He went on to day that in the olden days Iran and China were connected through the Silk Road and this connectedness has created great deal of cultural resemblance between Iran and China in the Xinjiang region. He pointed out to his visit to the carpet museum where had noticed great similarities between Iranian and Chinese carpet designs. The Chinese delegation took a tour in the archive section and the museum of the Center for Documents and Diplomatic History and afterwards they visited the Library and finally they had a meeting with Mr. Daman Pak Jami, the research deputy at the Center for International Research and Education, and discussed the ways that could help the two sides promote scientific, research and cultural cooperation with Xinjiang region such as cooperation in the field of documents, holding joint exhibits and conferences on history and civilization.
